The Island Of….

After much planning and some impatient waiting.. I finally received access to my very own virtual island! ;) You can visit jokaydia at http://slurl.com/secondlife/jokaydia/113/39/52.

Thanks Sean - who came up with the name, which was meant to be temporary but seems to be sticking!

I’ve spent the first few days of Island ownership working on the landscaping and learning all about raw files and textures.

Plans for the island include some orientation resources, some meetings spaces and nice spots to hang out, a collection of educational landmarks and tour resources and a space for some of our colleagues to rent land for pilot projects. I’m also looking forward to having the space to be a bit more creative and make some new resources and activities.

At this stage, I am hoping that the Island will be up and running with a range of tools and spaces setup by the beginning of September. The race is on…I’ve got some serious work to do! ;)
